I designed the front end of Imvoto, a classroom teaching tool. Pupils use whatever internet-enabled device they have to load the interactive app. Teachers assign questions to pupils on their devices rather than giving them a worksheet or textbook. These questions might contain text (including mathematical formulae), images (eg diagrams or pictures), or sounds (eg spoken clips).
Pupils respond to the question and they immediately see whether they were correct or not. Teachers see the pupils response in real-time so they can gauge how well the class is coping with the topic. The feedback means the teacher can identify which pupils need more support and which need more challenge.
Imvoto has a prototype being used in Cambridgeshire schools. Pupils love it and teachers are very excited by the possibilities it offers. Imvoto is currently expanding its beta to other schools in the UK and in Australia.
